What it measures

  • Urine fluoride concentration — The amount of fluoride in a urine sample, usually reported in milligrams per liter (mg/L).
  • Creatinine (sometimes) — A substance that helps adjust fluoride levels for how concentrated your urine is.
  • Collection volume (sometimes) — The total amount of urine collected over a set time, if a 24-hour sample is used.
